Lift Status Update

Lift-status communication should be honest, easy to scan, and connected to the questions people ask next.

Current public headline

Whaleback’s current public lift-status page says that on March 6, 2026, after significant work mating a donated gearbox to the old lift, the chairlift passed load testing and was licensed to operate.

Important recent context

A March 2025 public community letter explained that the lift had developed a mechanical problem, that top-to-bottom skiing and riding for the following season depended on repairs, and that the mountain needed to raise immediate money while also keeping staff, summer camp, and off-season events going.

Why keep this page visible

This page is not only operational. It is also a trust page. People want to know whether the lift is running, what happened, and what the current status means for their plans.

One flag to preserve

This page should stay date-driven. When a new milestone happens, update it rather than smoothing everything into generic marketing copy.
