Whaleback Mountain

Winter Events

Winter events are part of the mountain's identity. This page should help people find them quickly and feel invited to show up.

The mountain after dark and on event nights

Whaleback’s winter-event pages show a mountain that leans into community programming, race culture, themed nights, and beginner-friendly special events.

Current public examples

Thursday Night Race League

The live event page calls this the Upper Valley’s most popular adult race league, featuring head-to-head dual slalom under the lights for adults 18 and over.

DH Under The Lights

A recent public event page described this as a night for Dartmouth Health and Geisel staff, families, and friends, with skiing and snowboarding for all levels, tacos, hot cocoa, board games, dancing, fire pits, and optional beginner instruction.

That event page also listed public ticket examples such as:

  • snow sports tickets
  • food-and-fun tickets
  • discounted rental add-ons
  • beginner group instruction add-ons

Upper Valley Free Day and other themed gatherings

Recent event pages also promoted free après music, sponsor tie-ins, and community-focused nights that combined skiing with staying awhile.

Practical note

Winter event names and prices change. Keep the named examples because they show the mountain’s personality, but use the Calendar for live dates and details.
